I'm Christy, an East Coast SAHM with 2 amazing children and a wonderful, hard-working husband. Motherhood has been full of surprises for me, the firstsurprise coming when my son Jack made his grand arrival 2 months ahead of schedule in the summer of 2003. Jack spent a month in the NICU learning to eat and growing strong, both of which he hasn't stopped doing with a vengeance since day one! My tiny little preemie is now a strong, healthy preschooler with a keen intelligence and an imagination as big as his gentle heart.
In love with my beautiful baby boy and saddened that his infancy was over, I persuaded my husband that it was time for baby #2 not long after Jack's first birthday. Convincing Tom didn't take much effort for after all, what could be more perfect for our little family than another happy, placid baby like we already had? Along came our next big surprise in our beautiful Natalie. The Madam, as she is called by those of us who love her and fear her just a wee bit, is as obstinate as her brother is easy-going, as shy as he is talkative, as quick to cry as he is to laugh and as clingy as he is independent. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I could have two such different children or that I could love them both with such intensity. The joy that my sassy 1 year old and sweet 3 year old have brought me has been the biggest surprise of all.
